Rules and regulations

The SCC Lucky Ducky Derby is organized by Somerset Children’s Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The center’s mission is to empower children with special needs by providing developmentally appropriate therapeutic services in a safe, nurturing environment that fosters growth and independence.

A maximum of 5,000 rubber ducks will be entered into the race. The chances of winning depend on the total number of qualified entries.

All ducks entered into the race remain the property of the SCC Lucky Ducky Derby. Once launched, ducks are on their own, no individual may interfere with or free a duck during the race unless authorized by the race committee.

The SCC Lucky Ducky Derby will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 107 Elm Street, Neshanic Station, NJ (Neshanic River Bridge).

• Festivities: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Race Start Time: Approximately 4:00 PM
  The race course will be determined by the race committee. In the event of inclement weather, Acts of God, or unforeseen circumstances, SCC Lucky Ducky Derby reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, or determine winners via a random drawing.

Each duck is assigned a unique tag number, which is attached to its bottom. The tag numbers of the first ducks retrieved by the event organizers will determine the winners.

• Winners must provide valid identification to claim their prize.
• Prizes must be claimed by the end of the event or within one week at Somerset Children’s Center in Bridgewater, NJ.

A copy of the official Rules and Regulations, a list of prizes, and, after the event, a list of winners can be obtained by sending a written request with a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

• No cash equivalents or exchanges will be provided for prizes.
• All applicable taxes and fees are the responsibility of the winner.
• By participating, entrants release the event organizers, officers, directors, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliated entities from all liability related to the prizes.
• Winners agree to allow the use of their name and likeness for promotional purposes without additional compensation.

• A minimum donation of $5.00 per duck is requested. Free entries are strongly discouraged, as they undermine the fundraising purpose of the event.

• Prize winners must be at least 18 years old.
• Winners do not need to be present to win.

• Winners will be announced at the event and contacted via phone, email, or U.S. mail if necessary.
• If a winner does not claim their prize within 7 days, or if the provided contact information is insufficient or illegible, a new winner will be randomly selected.

• The SCC Lucky Ducky Derby Committee has sole discretion over the interpretation of rules and regulations, and all decisions are final.

• If severe weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent the race from taking place, winners will be randomly selected, and they will be notified via phone.

• This event is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.

• The SCC Lucky Ducky Derby name and logo are registered trademarks of Somerset Children’s Center. No individual or entity may use or reproduce them without express written permission from the organization.
